Experiences

Paw Park is one of the few places along the beach where dogs are allowed. The park features an enclosed run for big dogs and one for small dogs, as well as an open beach area where dogs can swim. The fishing pier is a great spot to watch the sunset. There are many natural wonders to see along the shoreline; spot sharks and other fish near the fishing pier or look for sand crabs and wading birds on land. This beach is a popular place to search for shark’s teeth, especially after a storm washes them ashore. Gopher tortoise and scrub jays live in Service Club Park.

History

This site became the responsibility of the County to operate and maintain in 1992 as the result of a dual taxation settlement between the City of Venice and Sarasota County Government.
